Extra Credit! #8

When I heard about this blogging stuff I was not looking forward to it at all. I had trouble setting everything up probably because I am horrible with computers!! :) Once I figured out how to set up my blog it was not so bad after all. It was just a chore to keep up with all the blogging since I did't have it set up on my phone I was not able to have access to a computer very often. I have to admit I am excited that this is my last post!! Now that this class is over I don't think I will be using blogger anymore. It was a good expirence though.

Our Elders #7

I talked to my Great Grandmother for about an hour and half. It was nice to just spend some time together and just talk and listen to her tell me about her childhood and how different it was compared to how children are raised today. She talked about how she was when she was around my age. She also told me many random stories. I really enjoyed talking to her and when I asked her how she liked just taking the time to sit here talking to eachother, she said she loved it! So I definitely will be doing this more often.

You in 6 words!!!

http://www.smithmag.net/sixwords/thanks.php
I went to the website above and I entered my email and password. It was an easy process. I choose to put Be present, live laugh love forgive as my six words. :)

Kids off Drugs

I know one day when I have kids I will eventually have to have a talk with my kids about staying away from drugs. I know when this day comes it will most likely be a little awkward for them and myself but it is an issue that needs to be talked about. I know that some techniques to keep kids away from drugs is to keep them busy and infrom them about peer pressure and that it is ok to say "NO" to people. They have to know that saying  no is perfectly fine. I have two younger brothers and we keep them too busy to even have time to be in those situations. They both play sports all year long. Their practices and games keep them super busy. I personally think having them in sports makes it easy to keep them away from hanging out with the wrong crowds and being in sports also makes them focus on their academics.

Stress reduction

I found that a type of stress reduction for is Yoga!! I absolutely lova and recommend everyone to try Yoga at least once. It is not only helps reduce stress but it is so good for you emotionally, spiritually and  physically. When I first started doing yoga it was a little awkward but i got used to it quickly. I found it to be extremely relaxing beacause of all the poses and deep breathing techniques that you do. Focusing on your breathing helps clear your brain and before you know your mind is clear from all things. It automatically reduces stress. Yoga help your flexibilty and also is a good workout. I was so sore after the first couple classes of yoga. Also not only did i find yoga to be an awesome technique for stress but it help my upper back pain soo much. I am always so tense on my upper back area and i noticed once i did yoga on a normal basis my back had never felt so good. :) There is also so many types of Yoga so you can try out a few and see what type you like the most and makes you the most comfortable.

LOVE Language Quiz!!!!

In Quality Time, nothing says “I love you” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes you feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed activities, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.

So i just took the love language quiz and it states that my love language personality is quality time. This seems to be very true. the summary about quality time couldn't have been explained any better. There is nothing better than spending time with those who you love and care dearly about. I know that i love hanging out with my family and friends and the moment when I realize its been a while I automatically try to plan something to ensure i'll have some quality time with them soon.

I have seen Food Inc. several times and each time it is just as interesting as the first. This movie opens my eyes to all the food that i am consuming may not be as healthy as i think. For example the part where it the movie explains the environment that the chickens are living in. Its absolutely horrible and disgusting. I think it is crazy how they constanty inecting these animals with antibiotics. Also I think the part of the movie when the mother of the little boy who passed was talking about her son was extremely sad. I can't believe he died from eating a hamburger. So many people eat at fast food chains each day maybe twice a day and i can't believe this little boy got so sick from eating a hamburger and ended up not making it. This definitely makes me think twice about eating at Mcdonalds, Jack in the Box or any fast food places. Every hear that saying "We are what we eat"? Nobody wants to be sick or unhealthy, so why do we tend to eat and make such unhealthy habits. Us as Americans we should be more aware to what food we are putting in our bodies.
